I'm curious; what are the laws in your state for homeschooling?
And do you follow them?
And for those "unschooling" homes, do you follow those laws?
I will be moving to a different state and the laws there are tougher for homeschooling and I'm wondering if I could just get away with NOT following the laws they have.
Please, anyone?! Please help me out here and let me know what you think about Homeschool Laws and following them or not following them. :(

Re: Laws in your state
Tue, December 28, 2004 - 6:24 AMWe are just starting homeschooling for our two children, MN state law is easy. File two pieces of paper work, they send you very, very simplistic forms to fill out about progress and send back quarterly or monthly and that's all.
So, no need to ignore the law here, they are pretty open. -

Re: Laws in your state
Mon, January 3, 2005 - 2:09 PMThanks for letting me know something about other state laws.
But even in Illinois, the laws are easier than that. I don't have to report anything nor do I have to let anyone know that I am homeschooling. So I guess I am just used to the EASIEST STATE in all of the US, and that's ILLINOIS.
I will miss Illinois when it comes to homeschooling my daughter.
I just want to be able to homeschool in my own way and in my own time. I might want to go back to Illinois anyway, but I don't really know that for sure.
Anyone else homeschool and are reluctant to follow the state laws because you think your homeschooling should stay PRIVATE?
