I've been having a discussion regarding homeschooling in one of the political tribes.

The impression normally is that Homeschoolers are religious, right-wing, or both. I'm religiously apathetic and very left-wing. . .
Thoughts?

Re: Homeschooling is a Political Issue
Sat, February 12, 2005 - 8:01 PMHey there! I am/was on several list with you. As for hs being a right wing thing. I think it may have been. Now however, it covers the whole board. From both fringes, left & right. And everywhere in between. I am on a few unschooling lists, and a couple "regular" hs lists. Unschooling is a type of hs'ing.
From what I can tell there seem to be more "middle left". People who hs'ing using the whole world as their class room. When learning about Native Americans, go right to the source. Not reading some out dated book, that was written to give you the authors point of view.
I guess that is my point. Most the people I know, want their children to come to their own views. Even if they don't always coincide with their own.
