Get on some good e lists in your area.. check out A to Z homeschooling.. homeschooling.gomilpitas.com/ she has good info for all states.

If you can get involved in a good support/social group, that is always helpful.

6 is still young, so lots of play and fun, just enjoy! when you have doubts and concerns share those here or with another e list, not with your friends or family who aren't getting it. With your friends and family, tell them all that you are doing, places you are going etc. It gets easier!

Even though you are not in California.. California homeschool network has a nice publication written for Grandparents.. really any family that address concerns etc.
