Question about lesson plans

We have all the materials, and what I plan to do is reveiw the units each week and plan how to divide it up throught the week.I will test at the end of the week as the material provided have tests at the end of each chapter. My question is ,is this enough or should I be doing somthing eles. This will be my first year home schooling and I don't wanna mess up. Any advice is welcome.
