Sat, January 24, 2004 - 9:27 AMWe chose to use the world and our library. Before you buy expensive curriculum, let the kids see what our own local area has to offer. MAKE a great day! Cathi -

Tue, August 3, 2004 - 8:30 AMwe are doing this as well, but we have to submit something to the school system to show what we are teaching him.. what would you recommend we do? should we just make our own and show that, or buy something or what? I'm at a loss here.. also tried looking on our scool's website becasue they post what cirriculum THEY use, but they only have up middle and high school. -

Re: What curriculum do you use?
Tue, August 10, 2004 - 1:55 AMfor one, what grade level are your children? and for two, what the school is most likely wanting is work samples and not actual cirriculum that you have to hand them. that is easy...language is the little note that he wrote grandma and math is carefully pressed leaves under wax paper in groups of ascending numbers. what exactly are you wanting to figure out and we can help more...:) -

Re: What curriculum do you use?
Sat, August 21, 2004 - 12:08 PMI was home schooled through Christian Liberty Acedemy of Satellite Schools (CLASS). It is accredited, and only very moderately religious. Unless you have a severe issue with non-denominational christian teachings, then this is a great program. Yes, you have to take one course in relligious text, but it not from the bible, and it was relatively cheesy for me. I am not a christian, but I suffered through the two hours it took me to complete the entire semester's work on the religious course. Not only follow a good accredited curriculum, but SUPLEMENT! Take the kids to the museums, library, festivals, historical landmarks etc... my mother took as everywhere she could afford. Being homeschooled allowed us to travel as well, so we slept in National Parks and travelled all over Texas, following her jobs. She instilled in me a great love for nature and education through this technique.
